NEW -*- OLDER

9:39 p.m.,Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004

So, today was my birthday. I think it's a sign of a downhill slide into boring adulthood when you spend most of the day having forgotten that the day is any different to the 364 others in the year.

I spent 9-11 in class, surrounded by people who don't know my name, let alone the fact that I turned 22 today. Half of them think I'm straight out of school. This is my choice - half of them ARE straight out of school, and act as though they're still in year 8.

I then came home to an empty house, and did 'homework' until 8pm tonight.

We got Indian for dinner, only Dad and Tim were out, so it was Mum and I eating. I opened a couple of cards and my present - a camera bag for my camera. And then I watched All Saints with Mum.

Brian called, which was nice - he's away until tomorrow afternoon. At least it's not all week.

I'm not as bitter or unhappy as I sound, I promise. It just didn't feel at all like a birthday. Thanks Omorfia for your lovely email and note!

Probably the highlight of my day was getting a message on my phone from Alicia, singing the full "Happy Birthday" without a hint of embarrassment. I listened to it while I waited at the train station, and I felt lucky to have her friendship.

Brian gave me Calvin Klein underwear - they are officially my only brand label clothes. But they're gorgeous and very sexy. I feel as though I'm not even wearing any....

He took a photo of me in them, and I was going to post it, but it's not the most flattering picture. I'll take another one.

Happy Birthday me. May all my dreams come true. May I have dreams.
